Award Winning Classroom Design
Architects from [Design Collaborative] Workshop spent the Spring of 2009 collaborating with students and faculty at TVCS to design smart, safe and sustainable learning spaces for our growing campus in Victor. A series of workshops were held at the school in order to provide hands-on education in architectural design techniques and gain insight into the school’s unique needs for learning spaces. The resulting master plan and classroom design was submitted to the 2009 Open Architecture Challenge, sponsored by Architecture for Humanity. The Teton Valley Community School design was selected as the top award winner ($50,000 prize) from over 1000 registered competitors from around the globe.
The TVCS community is extremely excited about this high honor. We are currently raising additional funds needed for the construction of the first classroom in the summer of 2010. To participate in this unique opportunity to build a prototype of "the classroom of the future" click here.
