FAQ

Preschool HikeIs TVCS a private school?
No, TVCS is a non-profit independent school. We are a tax-exempt 501c(3) organization run by an independent board of directors. At TVCS, the actual cost of educating a student is higher than the tuition we charge. Every child’s education is subsidized through private donations and grants. Private schools differ because they are often part of another governing entity such as a for-profit corporation or church/synagogue.

What is your tuition?
For the 2012-2013 academic year tuition is:
      Pre-School 2 days/week - $2,800
      Pre-School 3 days/week - $4,100
      Upper School - $7,190

Do you offer financial aid?
TVCS proudly offers financial aid to qualifying families of students in the elementary program (K-8). Approximately, one third of our current student body receives financial aid ranging from $500-$4,000 per student. Our financial aid program is primarily funded through the Tin Cup Challenge fundraising event.

What academic standards do you follow?
TVCS uses Mid-continent Research for Education and Learning (McREL) benchmarks to ensure our students are meeting important academic milestones in creative and effective ways. We also evaluate student progress and teacher effectiveness by linking these benchmarks to our comprehensive student assessment process.

How have your students performed when leaving TVCS to attend other schools?
TVCS alumni have been successful in both public and independent school settings after leaving the school. Their overall academic preparedness for new schools has been exceptional and TVCS graduates have proven time and again that they are mature, confident, flexible, and able to think outside of the box.
