The Teton Valley Community School and Section Eight Design win top award in international classroom design competition!!

A surprise guest showed up at the Teton Valley Community School on the first day of school. Sandhya Naidu from Architecture for Humanity greeted students, parents and teachers with the incredible news that TVCS is the winning school in the 2009 Open Architecture Challenge. Section Eight Design collaborated with students, teachers, parents and community members last spring to design smart, flexible and sustainable classrooms for the TVCS campus. Their design was selected as the top award winner from more than 1,000 entries from 65 countries. As the winning school, TVCS will receive $50,000 toward the construction of these innovative classrooms. Thanks to Architecture for Humanity and Section Eight Design for this incredible experience and opportunity. We plan to work diligently to get the design off the paper and onto the ground to provide a unique educational facility for our community and an example for others around the world.
